Untamed Wilderness
A mix of Uganda's natural beauty, unusual wildlife and cultural heritage, with game drives, scenic hikes and time with the region's indigenous cult...
View itineraryBefore 1906, Jinja was a fishing village with large rocks near the Ripon Falls. The name comes from the languages of the Baganda and the Basoga, who lived on either side of the Nile here. In both languages, Jinja means "rock". Today it is known as the adventure capital of East Africa.
Our first stop is Sezibwa Falls, a Buganda cultural site full of birds, folktales and good scenery. We continue to the Mabira Forest Canopy Super Skyway, a zipline system that sends you between the tallest trees in the rainforest. Lunch in Jinja, then a tour of the Uganda Railway Museum. We finish at the source of the Nile gardens with a boat ride.
A full day for Jinja's adventure activities: white water rafting, kayaking, tubing, paddle boating, the water slide, quad bikes, cycling, horseback riding, and sunrise or sunset cruises.
After breakfast, we drive back to Kampala or Entebbe. End of tour.
