Overview

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park lies in south western Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley. Its misty hillsides are covered by one of Uganda's oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, over 25,000 years old. The forest protects roughly half of the world's mountain gorillas, including several habituated groups that can be tracked.

Day by day

  1. 1

    Day 1

    Fly from Entebbe to Bwindi.

  2. 2

    Day 2

After breakfast, you set out with an experienced park ranger to find one of the habituated gorilla families that live in the park. Depending on where the gorillas are that day, the walk takes from 2 to 7 hours. Once the family is found, you have one hour to sit quietly and watch them, and their habits will remind you of our own. This is real hiking, so a good level of fitness is recommended.

  3. 3

    Day 3

    Fly back to Entebbe.
